My professional path has been diverse, encompassing roles as a diplomat, communications professor, international affairs professor, columnist, blogger, and author. These experiences have shaped me into an “internationalist.” Although retired, I remain deeply engaged with global developments that impact us all.

After years in diplomatic service and university teaching, I turned to another enduring passion: writing. Twelve books later — in Spanish, French, and English — the conversation continues.

Music

A lifetime in diplomacy and public service has taught me the value of dialogue and listening. Music has offered another language for the same purpose. Some call me “the singing diplomat.” I call it storytelling — in another key.
